We were delighted to mark the formal opening of a new blood testing facility at the Harvey Centre in Harlow, Essex.

The clinic first opened its doors to patients on Monday 27 April, with the occasion formally marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday 21 May by Health Services Laboratories (HSL) CEO, David Byrne, The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) CEO, Thom Lafferty, and Chair of the PAHT Patient Panel, Ann Nutt.

Diagnostics are the foundation of modern healthcare and are often the starting point of a patient’s healthcare journey. They underpin clinical decision-making, enabling earlier intervention, more effective treatment and, ultimately, better patient outcomes.

Facilities like this also play an important role in improving access to healthcare within local communities, making essential testing services more convenient and accessible for patients.
This new clinic has been made possible through close collaboration between HSL, PAHT, and Harlow Council.

Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this facility to life. We look forward to supporting patients and the wider Harlow community for many years to come.

Dr Rachael Liebmann OBE, David Byrne and Thom Lafferty.
