Senior LIMS specialist and developer, Graham Hogan, is the latest recipient of a GIRFT recognition award.
Graham was nominated by Maulik Trivedi, Group Head of Referrals, for his role in eliminating the need for hundreds of daily manual transfers to referral laboratories.
Graham took the initiative to link up with high volume referral laboratories to create a secure FTP server-based programme to directly receive results files.
This system saves time in processing and organising data transmissions, saves on the cost of maintenance, and transfers and ensures we are compliant with the security of patient data.
Most GIRFT winners come from our laboratory teams, so it was especially pleasing to see Graham from our IT team reflecting the great innovations made possible by our support departments.
