Given its complexity, and in order to run the HSL joint venture successfully, there is a need for HSL to separate some of its functions. These functions are provided by two entities: HSL FM LLP (“FM”) and HSL HSL Analytics LLP (“Analytics”), and details of how they operate are provided below.
HSL FM LLP
HSL FM LLP (“FM”) provides fully-equipped laboratory services to its clients. FM provides laboratory premises, the latest pathology machinery and equipment, and the staff to ensure the equipment is appropriately maintained and serviced. FM also runs a warehouse facility in Elstree, and ensures the prompt and continuous supply of reagents and laboratory consumables. We provide reagents and consumables to our laboratory testing facilities and to NHS GP and private medical practices. We also have a range of home-based sample collection kits for capillary blood testing, sexual health testing, cervical screening and faecal testing.
HSL Analytics LLP
HSL Analytics LLP (“Analytics”) provides clinical pathology services to its clients. Analytics does this by providing access to fully trained and appropriately qualified staff to conduct pathology testing or investigations, under the supervision of medically qualified specialists. Analytics’ staff are available to work at any location its client chooses, and we provide staffing to run Rapid Response Laboratories at a number of hospital locations, as well as at centralised pathology hubs such as the Halo in central London. We run a range of training and staff development programmes to ensure our staff are up to date with the latest pathology assays and the techniques to perform them. Analytics also provides specialists in Blood Transfusion support, Cellular Pathology, and advanced genomics sequencing.
